Straits Caf is a restaurant chain, serving four major culinary cultures, including Malaysian-Indonesian, Chinese, Indian, and Nonya. The restaurant uses various ingredients and spices, including lemongrass, kaffir lime leaf, galangal and pandan. Its signature dish is a whole crab saut ed in a hot and sweet sauce. The restaurant s appetizer catering menu includes samosa, bergedel, muruku, curry puffs, murtabak, ginger salad, vegetable crudite platter, cheese and fruit platter, and coconut crusted shrimp. It also provides a full range of event management services, including venue search, equipment rental, off-site beverage services, decorations and event themes. Straits Caf has branches in San Jose, San Francisco and Palo Alto, Calif.
